Black Heads Write For Us

Blackheads are a type of acne. They are open bumps on the skin that fill with extra oil and dead skin. It appears as if there is dirt on the mound, but irregular light likeness from the clogged follicle causes the dark spots.

Blackheads are not pimples. Pimples are small, painful, discolored bumps with a thick, yellowish-white fluid at the tip. Blackheads tend to appear in teenagers and young adults undergoing hormonal changes. However, many adults still get acne in their 20s, 30s and beyond. Some even develop blackheads for the first time in adulthood.

How Do Blackheads Affect My Body?

Blackheads most commonly develop on the face (especially on the nose and chin, but sometimes on the cheeks), neck, back, and chest. However, sebaceous glands are found all over the body. They release an oily lubricant called sebum that helps keep skin and hair moisturized and shiny. As a result,  blackheads sometimes appear on the buttocks, thighs, ears, and under the arms, although this is rare.

Blackheads don’t seriously affect your physical health, but they can affect your psychosocial (how society and social groups affect your mind) and psychological (your self-esteem and behavior). Blackheads can cause anxiety, depression, mood swings, and suicidal thoughts.

 What Causes Blackheads?

Sebaceous glands are found throughout the body, most connected to hair follicles. Blackheads and blackheads are blackheads (singular blackheads). Blackheads are open blackheads, and blackheads are closed blackheads. The Blackheads occur when hair follicles and oil glands become inflamed. Inflammation can occur as a result of:

  • Increased sebum production (an oily substance produced by the sebum glands).
  • Abnormal formation of keratin (a protein that builds hair, skin, and nails).
  • Elevated hormones (androgens).
  • The increased presence of bacteria on the skin causes acne.
